Louw

Dr Grethe Louw is the principal dentist here at Oakwood Dental Practice, which she and her husband Hennie took over in 2017. Since then, she’s helped transform the practice into a modern, welcoming space offering advanced dental care in a calm and friendly environment.

With over 25 years of experience, including 16 years working in Winchester, Grethe is known for her gentle approach, attention to detail, and eye for aesthetics. She has a special interest in Invisalign clear aligners, cosmetic dentistry, and facial aesthetic treatments, and she loves helping patients feel more confident in their smiles.

Grethe graduated with honours from Stellenbosch University in South Africa in 1999 and went on to complete a postgraduate diploma at the University of Bristol in 2008. She’s an Invisalign Preferred Provider, which means she has lots of experience helping patients achieve great results with this discreet orthodontic system.

Grethe is passionate about staying up to date with the latest techniques and regularly completes advanced training in cosmetic and restorative dentistry. She also works closely with referring dentists for more complex cases and always takes time to ensure patients feel informed, comfortable, and cared for throughout their treatment journey.

Outside of her professional life, Grethe enjoys a full and creative family life with her husband, two daughters, and three lively Siamese cats. When she’s not in the practice, you’ll find her dancing, reading, gardening, or working on her new hobby—silversmithing. She’s also hoping to return to art and salsa classes soon!
